My fears - Gas lighting

Hi.
I have had a sub conscious fear that due to my mental health   if at anytime I were trying to reach out and get help and support if it got complex I may not be believed or questioned as to if things really happened. I struggle with anxiety and I guess it’s gas lighting I have a fear of, can’t think of anything worse than not being believed in a fearful situation.

Im feeling those fears are happening to me. I think because due to me struggling with anti social behaviour I’ve been asked to keep a diary so some things are thoughts not facts. And also so much has happened to me since December I can understand someone thinking wow this person can’t have been so unlucky, one thing gets resolved and something else seems to begin. I find it unbelievable too and extremely anxiety ridden.
Since being questioned about it it has truly knocked me for 6 I really am now feeling I don’t want to speak up for fear of not being believed or it’s thought it’s due to my mental health. It’s a dreadful position to be in. A very lonely scarey place. I’ve reached out a lot and even that now feels like I’ve reached out too much and everyone feels I’m a nuisance or over reacting, I know I’m not ,and the things happening are very real. But the feelings won’t go away making me afraid to keep reaching out…

Thanks for listening guys it feels so difficult right now

    Hello Serenity

Don't be discouraged by any doubts or scepticism you may encounter. Your feelings and experiences matter, and it's important to find someone who can provide the support and validation you need. If you're finding it difficult to reach out to people you know, consider seeking help from helplines, support groups, or mental health organisations that specialise in dealing with situations like yours.

Serenity, believe me, you are not alone. I, too, have experienced a series of events in my own life that unfolded one after another. If I were to pen a book detailing the genuine account, I am certain it would be labelled as fiction, for the truth itself would appear utterly unbelievable.

Sometimes when I find something playing on mind I find it can be beneficial to redirect my focus towards something positive and uplifting. By consciously choosing to concentrate on something nice, I can create a mental shift that helps me alleviate anxiety and bring some peace of mind.  How about watching a programme you enjoy, read a book or listen to some positive affirmations on you tube.   Take care MW

Thank you @MW123. Means a lot  at the moment. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes a good series or movie can be great distractions for me, and allow me to chill a little ..
going to get checking out Netflix now. After all nothing can be followed up at the weekends, as far as finding support goes , so it makes sense to try chill..

    thanks again

Hi @serenity2 sorry you feel not believed if you reach out. Plenty of support here and no one will judge you.
