Stressed overpayment mistake

Community member Posts: 200 Courageous
I checked my journal this morning in light of the uc reviews and had a letter posted that they over paid my rent in April and now they are going to take payment to recover
however, I have lived in the same property since November 2021 and claiming housing benefit from december 2021
in march my landlords details changed and was given a letter to upload to my journal which I done numerous times, so up until April they were paying my landlord direct, then due to the change paid me to pay the landlord which I do but they say April is an overpayment
looking at my payments I am paid from December till March I was paid in April but this has been removed from my statement then again in May and June
I have 2 journal messages 3rd April saying the rent will be paid to me, then on the 18th (the day I receive my benefit) saying my housing costs cannot be paid as I have not provided sufficient evidence, I uploaded the letter from landlord again and seems to have been accepted but they want April payment back
i am so stressed I am waiting for the case manager to contact me

Hi @Alex_Scope yes he rang me around lunch time and said someone had looked at my case and saw that more proof was required even though I uploaded more proof
He has emailed the debt dept to tell them it isn’t an overpayment so hopefully it’s sorted
thanks -
Oh fingers crossed @apples I'm glad to hear he was able to help
Let us know when/if you find out more!
