New bank details

I updated my bank details online over the weekend but now it says they can not pay me until I verify my bank details (I’ve never had to do this before). I am due a new statement tomorrow and paid 10th? Does this mean they won’t pay me? The appointment they have booked for me isn’t for another two weeks and no one is getting back to me on the journal so I am just worried.

When you change bank accounts then yes you usually need to verify them at your local job centre. Unless you used the currant account switch service, which means everything that used to be paid into and from your old bank account will automatically be paid into your new bank account. If you didn't use that then yes they usually want you to verify your bank account. If it was me then i would have waited until after you received your monthly money before changing accounts. You can try ringing the UC helpline to ask if you can have an appointment earlier because of your payment being due soon. I have no idea for certain if it will affect receiving your money this month but it may do.0

I agree with Poppy, you should of waited until at least a day after you received your payment before switching. Just useful for you to know in the future.
You will probably receive a Faster Payment once you attend the Jobcentre.0 -
Just to add further if payment is sent to your old bank account then you'll need to wait for that payment to be returned to DWP before they will send another payment.
