Most of the energy companies are owned by foreign entities.

We did actually finally get some form of a response from e.on.

They said they were passing it on to the person who had previously handled our complaints.

I had to reply back saying I didn't think it was appropriate for someone who I am complaining about to handle a complaint about themselves (I said it more diplomatically than this).

    We await once more.

So, we've always been told that complaints are handled by regular call handlers and there is no special complaints team.

We found out that's incorrect once we started taking out complaint to trustpilot and other review and social media platforms. Turns out they do have a special complaints team! Only if you start complaining publicly though.

Sorry, I know it's been about a month. Figured I'd update folk here since I did ask here for advice.

We finally got a deadlock letter with an offer of £150 compensation. I thought this was awfully low for what we'd been through, nevermind the *time* we had to put into getting this fixed. I did some reading and it turns out it only costs the employer £175 for something to be sent to the ombudsman and rewards are rarely over £100. In fact they would've just give us the £150 originally offered if anything. So, despite being tempted to be a small additional statistic to how terribly they've been to customers we decided to take the £150 immediately rather than having to wait months and months for the ombudsman to finally look at it.

Shocker that I discovered the energy ombudsman isn't set up by the government but the energy companies themselves.
