Unexpected call from DWP regarding PIP review
Earlier today, I received a message on my mobile phone from a doctor representing the DWP regarding my PIP review. The doctor requested that I get in touch with him before 5.30 pm today or before 4.00 pm on Friday, and he provided his mobile phone number. I didn't notice the message until later in the afternoon, but when I called, he promptly answered after a couple of rings.
During our brief conversation, the doctor's main purpose was to inquire if there had been any changes to my medication since I completed the review form back in March 2022. I also tried to explained to him that I didn't believe my responses in the review form adequately represented my situation, and I asked if we could go over them once more. The doctor assured me that would not be necessary and he would submit a report to the DWP based on the medical evidence I submitted with my review, and the DWP would receive his report today.
I must confess that today's DWP development caught me off guard. Looking back, it seems clear that my request to discuss the form with the doctor might not have been well-received, as it became apparent that his focus was solely on my medication-related information. I deeply regret mentioning it at all.
So I assume from what I have read it will probably be another 12 weeks or more before they write to me.

This would be a paper based assessment. Another member on here also received a phone call today from the health assessment provider asking a few questions.Yes, up to 12 weeks for a decision once the report is returned.0

Poppy, I wanted to take a moment to extend my appreciation for your prompt response regarding the confirmation of a paper-based assessment and the expected timeline for a decision once the report is returned. Your willingness to share valuable information has been an incredible support during this journey of dealing with the DWP over the PIP renewal.
Your active participation and contributions to this community have made it a truly vibrant and supportive space. It's heartening to be part of a community where individuals like you come forward with valuable insights and experiences, making it easier for others to navigate through the complexities of the DWP processes. Again thank you.
