Another shout out for anyone capable of submitting their own evidence of DWP 'errors' to PAC by 24th August -
Hi all,
The Public Accounts Committee does not accept DWP's excuses for the catalogue of 'errors' and underpayments to claimants.
Please consider submitting your own evidence to PAC by midnight 24th August -
Hey @WhatThe, I understand you had 2 separate threads about this but this isn't really a topic for Community Updates. I've merged both threads into Disability Rights and Campaigning. So those interested in the category can see it and it doesn't split the discussion, so it hopefully gets the conversation and attention it deserves.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

I sent 2 lots of paperwork in 2021 for disability assessment and for Pip. Pip did an assessment on the phone and declined my claim knowing I had anaphylaxis issues causing arthritis and issues walking. I appealed and it was declined by Stan. The second paperwork was for a disability assessment for dwp. They never replied. The job coach said they were awaiting a response and never got back to me. When I eventually received a reply, the categories for each section showed a zero rating, for mental health, even though they had my diagnosis for delusional disorder and PTSD. How can that be zero? It's ridiculous! It should have been at least a 5 or 6. All the sections included arthritis pain showed a zero rating. It was as though the government agencies didn't even look at my claim and put a zero for everything even though I sent through all the evidence from my psychiatrist, and gp. It really was stressful seeing that I got zero. It caused more anxiety trying to look for work and employers not wanting to take me on as a risk due to arrhythmia and allergies at my last workplace. I personally don't think they read my claim in the first place. I think it was declined without reading the evidence.

Hi Jimm,
I understand but will you please restore the other title instead as it mentions the deadline date which is key for any action in this investigation. Thank you

Public Accounts Committee (PAC)Inquiry
In November 2022 the Committee reported that the Department for Work and Pensions’ “excuses for unprecedented and unacceptable levels of benefit fraud and error don’t stand up”.
Based on the National Audit Office’s report on DWP’s Annual Accounts for 2022-23 the Committee will question senior officials at the Department on its performance during that period, on job support programmes to help the recovery from the pandemic, and whether the record on fraud and error in benefit delivery has improved.
The Committee has extended the deadline for written evidence for this inquiry. The new deadline to submit written evidence is 23.59 Monday 24 August
Please look at the requirements for written evidence submissions and note that the Committee cannot accept material as evidence that is published elsewhere. The Committee is not able to investigate individual cases.
This inquiry is currently accepting evidence
The committee wants to hear your views. We welcome submissions from anyone with answers to the questions in the call for evidence. You can submit evidence until Thursday 24 August 2023.
