Hi, I was assessed years ago for PIP. I was awarded higher lever for mobility. My score was 10 but it goes to 12 points max.
Since then I now have a fractured deteriorating vertebrae, nerve damage, diverticulitis, and also gout.
Is it likely I will get the highest rate now?

Good morning @ouchithurts and a warm welcome to the community.
Could I just clarify, you said you were awarded higher level for mobility, did you mean you currently receive the lower rate?0 -
I receive the higher rate. I have 10 currently. The ery highest is 12.0

There’s 2 part to PIP, daily living and mobility. At least 8 points is standard and at least 12 points is Enhanced (highest rate)
If you scored 10 points then this is standard rate, which is the lowest.1 -
Yes you're right. So now I have new disabilities (only just diagnosed) broken spine and also diverticulitis and also gout, will I get bumped up to 12 points?0

It’s not about a diagnosis. If you report changes you will receive more forms to fill in and return and the whole process starts again.Once a decision is made your award could either remain the same, be increased, decreased or stop completely. You should never report changes unless you either fully understand the descriptors yourself. Or you get some expert advice from an agency near you. Start here https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits
