PIP Automated Query

Hi everyone. Long time lurker but first time poster! I do have a question so apologies if I’m in the wrong place!

I called PIP for an update yesterday and the automated line told me that my next payment of PIP is 17th July?! And this is for £98.71 and includes any deductions. I was only awarded yesterday 21/07 so don’t understand the date. I do have an outstanding DWP debt from years ago which I called about and I still owe close to £1000 which I assume would be taken from any back pay.

I applied in March and the assessor recommended enhanced rate for both so I would have expected this be paid in full from any arrears pay but now I’m panicking about my ongoing award. 

I know that they are the only people who can clarify things for me but it wasn’t on the system yesterday so I have to wait until Monday. The figure doesn’t correspond to any rate and I’m just confused. 

If anyone has had a similar experience please reach out as I hate the not knowing and with it being the weekend I can’t do anything about it…

    As we have now gone past the 17th July so that automated payment line is clearly incorrect. You will receive any money that's owed first and your first 4 weekly payment will be about 4 weeks later. (or just under)

    They may take the money that you owe them from the money they owe you so the lump sum may have been sent to debt management. If it doesn't then you'll receive payment into your bank 3-5 working days after it was sent.

    You can either wait for the decision letter, which will explain everything or ring them on Monday.

    Thank you so much for your reply Poppy. Do you know if they send the whole amount to debt management and then they forward any left over or will they just send what is owed to them and a payment to me for the rest? I will call them on Monday x

    If it's sent to them it will be the whole amount. Debt management will then make a decision on whether to use that for what you owe.

    the same has happened to me, I was recommended enhanced DL and standard mobility and the payment next says only 3 pounds 82 pence. After all the years of it being standard DL and the automated line working correctly, very scary
