Tubular slide sheet

OT from the local council provided me with a 3 feet by 3 feet Tubular Slide sheet (made from non stick/ slippery nylon) - to assist me turning over and getting out of bed (especially at night)
The instructions do imply that it is a temporary method to move, turn and transfer patients in a bed - not designed to be left in place all night.....it rucked up when I tried and was uncomfortable.
I was wondering how anyone else with mobility problems managed to turn at night ?
I have been told silk sheets help - but silk sheets cost ££££'s

Anyone else tried a slidesheet ?0

My Nan had silk sheets and silk duvet cover. I tried sitting on her bed once and shot straight off it! Felt pretty dangerous to me, though that was her preference. She did have mobility issues and lived alone.
Maybe a full size fitted nylon sheet might offer some of the slip at lower cost?0 -

Yes slide sheets are only meant to be used in the task then removed. Have you thought of a pole above the bed you can hold on to I think they are called monkey poles

Nothing to be embarrassed about in my opinion, though I understand. Glad you figured something out that works and helps.0
