Good evening everybody.
I’m new here and looking for a little bit of support so I apologise if I’ve posted in the wrong place.
I’m a carer for my lovely Mum and have just completed her first PIP renewal. I sent the form recorded delivery and it was signed for this morning. A few hours later we received a text saying -
About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report.\nWe will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us.\nYou will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed.\nYou only need to contact us if your circumstances change.
does this just mean they have received the form from my mum? The text was sent only about 3 hours after it was signed for as delivered.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @MrsC12 - & welcome to the forum. Where you've posted is just fine.Altho 'recorded delivery' can just mean it's been signed for by a Royal Mail sorting office, & not the actual DWP, it 'may' mean that your Mum's review form has been received. However it does sound like it has been decided to do what's called a 'paper review' (as she hasn't had an assessment).Unfortunately it can actually take anything up to 12 weeks before you get a decision letter about your Mum's PIP (the text you received saying 6 weeks is just standard, & can be inaccurate).0

Thankyou so much for the reply!Would it be possible for them to decide to do a paper assessment without having received her form?My mum is really worried about the assessment process and the text really confused her today!1

It may have already been decided that they could do a paper assessment dependent on her circumstances & previous claim forms, tho a paper assessment can also occur following receipt of a review form.It does sound like your Mum needn't worry about having an assessment. These standard texts can indeed be confusing!0
