My recent pip assessment

Yeah I hope u hear soon too, it is torture. I didn't ask for the report cuz I'm so anxious about it I know it would leave me worse1
-
Part of the motivation to ask for it was the number of family and friends saying oh that doesn't sound good any time I told them about the assessment. And now they're saying the amount of time it's taking is a bad sign too. Poss cos we know two people who applied this year, were assessed by phone and got their pip two weeks later. Fella on phone did say there was a backlog though. So who really knows? No choice but to wait.0

I know I know someone who got theirs thru much quicker too😫 i keep telling myself we're nearly at the finish line it can't be that much longer for a decision and hopefully it will be the right one I've been out of work from Feb and not able to return to my job as I'm unable to do it safely now0

We must be at the short end of it now. We'll keep telling ourselves that. Would def ease some of the pressure if you're not working. Fingers very firmly crossed for you!0

Some people have decisions quite quickly after the assessment and others wait longer. Some have refusals with quick decisions and some are awarded. The same when a decision takes longer, some are refused and some are awarded.Timescales once the report is returned ia up to 12 weeks.0 -
Hi I just want to give use a quick update. I got my award letter today. I'm delighted it's been a tough wait but relieved. I hope use don't be waiting much longer on word too. All the best of luck and thanks so much for been able to chat in this community I really appreciate it 😊2

A chunk of change has just landed in my bank account so looks like I may have been awarded! The relief is HUGE. Will make such a difference. Particularly coming into winter.
So no letter yet and no text but money is there.
Thanks so much everyone for your patience with me.2 -

@coldwatermermaid I am so happy for you .now try to relax and treat yourself to something nice. The wait drains you so it's such a relief when it's over . Good luck x0

@coldwatermermaid oh my days I am SO happy for you! I bet that's a massive relief?
And as others have said, please treat yourself, get something nice (I recommend a lovely oversized, comfy jumper) and do some self care, you deserve it.0 -

OCTOBER 20th..still no word of my assessment result.
Question: when they eventually decide will they notify me by text first or by letter?
If text first is it bad luck to phone asking if they will tell me on the phone?
When I do hear result I will publish here.

When I do hear result I will publish here.If it's a new claim and you're successfully awarded they do sometimes send a text but not always. If it's a review then they don't send texts if there's an award. They may send a text to say your review is complete and you'll receive the decision letter within a couple of weeks.Regardless of texts a decision letter will also be sent. Ringing them to ask what the decision is will not affect what the decision is because if it's made, it's made and that decision won't change because you're ringing them.1 -
Thank you poppy
Thisbmorningbi received a text from pip it went like this
A decision has been made.
Do not contact this office as I won't be told what has been decided.
I will receive a letter informing me what has been decided within the next two weeks. Once I get the letter I can contact them with any questions I may have.
This doesn't sound good.
This is a review not a new claim.
I'm in Belfast.0 -
That’s a standard text often sent for reviews. It’s doesn’t mean anything other than what it says. Many other members have had that text and been awarded.Although it says not to ring them you can ring them at anytime.0
