Hi everyone, little help please very new to the UC side of things. My problem being I have been claiming UC for 7 weeks now. I have submitted a fit note for 3 months to UC from the beginning of my claim. I am curious to know will UC send me any information or contact me regarding the work capability assessment UC50? I claim PIP also and I would like to be considered for the LCWRA element. Thank you all for the support.

As you're providing fit notes then you must also make sure you've reported your health condition. You can do this by "reporting a change of circumstances" then "click" health condition. Or reported it when you first claimed UC.If you did then i would have expected your work coach to have referred you for the work capability assessment on about day 29 of your claim. You will know what this is done because you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you they are referring you. Shortly after that you'll receive the UC50 form in the post. The form will be this one. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uc50-form-universal-credit-capability-for-work-questionnaireYou can use this one and type your answers into the box but you'll need to download it and print it off. Please note, do not send off the form until you've been referred for the WCA. If you send it off before this then the Health Assessment Advisory Service will not accept the form.If you have extra supporting evidence to send then you should do that with the form. Most people have assessments so you'll likely need one of those too. Once the report is written it will be returned to DWP and a decision will be made on your claim. If found to have LCWRA then your UC maximum entitlement will increase by an extra £390.06/month. If found to have LCW then there's no extra money each month. You must continue to send fit notes without any gaps until a decision is made on your WCA.If you haven't received the referral letter yet then i'd advise you to put a message onto your journal asking them to refer you.
