Coming up soon we will be having a uc review, I've been very nervous and I get super anxious, does anyone know what to expect.

Hi @Starryeyes80, I know reviews of benefits you get can be really nerve-wracking. Just got to try and remember that there are appeal systems in place for a reason.
Can I ask which elements you get and what you were told from the DWP when they told you about the review?
We'll hopefully be able to reassure you about it all
Also going to move this to our UC section so those that know best about UC can answer.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

Me and partner are on uc, he's pt self employed but also my full time carer, so uc is earning based I think, i can not work due to health reasons, so I get the health element, sorry I'm very unfamiliar with all the correct names.
This is what uc said,
We are reviewing your Universal Credit claim to make sure your payments are correct We are reviewing your Universal Credit claim to make sure your payments are correct. We are reviewing your Universal Credit claim to make sure your payments are correct. As part of the review, you will need to send us information to confirm your details. You will get a separate journal message about this. We will update you in the next 7 days with more information.

Review, no not for a very long time, when on older one years ago, but I can't remember it, never one on this, maybe it's due to backlog like you said.
-
No they haven't sent a form, it's on the journal they said they'll be in touch this week.
-
Ok thanks for your help, yes switch was during covid.
-
Yes it's a complicance review, nothing more.
I've just been selected too, even though my claim was post covid and I was verified in person at the Job Centre etc.
They select people at random and have targets as to the number of claims to check.
I had my To-Do's this morning, to send proof of id and 4 months of bank statements.
I have two weeks to send them the information. -
Thanks for your help, least I sorta know what to expect. Appreciate the help.

It was March 2022 and I believe that I count as a migration (previously getting CB & IR ESA).
-
No I had the same journal message as has been posted.
Then a second journal message telling me what I need to upload, and when.
These checks are random and nothing at all to worry about. There is currently a Government target to undertake 2 milllion of them within the next 5 years. -
Exactly as the above comment states, the Government are ramping these up. Anyone can have a compliance interview, including those who have been claiming UC for many years now and those who are on the old income-related benefits. For the majority, these are nothing to worry about and are informal checks pretty much.

Glad we got to the bottom of it and it's something that isn't too great a concernThey/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

That's interesting information.
How come you understand so much about reviews?
Never heard of compliance as I ain't seen that anywhere before until you have said it.
