Hi. The post was originally started in 2022, but hopefully this will be seen. What exactly did the letter say? Might help someone in their answer. Try not to worry though, easier said than done of course.

Hi,thanks for replying!,the letter came through my door last week,I never understood it it says my pip claim will remain the same.from the period of September 2017! Till current date answer all 5 questions, and the questions are, about mixing face to face with people, did you need someone with you? How they helped you! What they did! Was there any help you needed therapy/counselling? If so when did it start? so on? If people wasnt there to help you what would you do? How would you manage!! Then says if you dont contact us or send back the reply slip before your date! Mines was September! Your pip decision will stay the same based on your current information we have.
When we have finished the review of your claim we will write to you.the letter we send will tell you our decision and let you know if you are owed any money.
I just find it hard to believe and also I no I was not awarded enhanced rate back in 2017! Only till 2020 I got enhanced rate on mobility, then on both in 2022?

Hi @p98yg, I know receiving a letter like this out the blue can be stressful and worrying.  Hopefully we can help reassure you about this :)

This usually happens when a descriptor has been changed since you were reviewed. You can call up the DWP to ask them more in-depth questions about it. You can also request more time to send it back if you feel like you don't have enough time.

You could also contact your local Citizen's Advice to talk to a benefit's adviser who can walk you through how to respond to the letter.

Hi thanks for your reply, but why is it going back to 2017! That is why I cant understand it says about a million people got these letters about the law change,as its basically about mental health face to face appointments how much it impacted on us all and were not giving the proper award! The more I have read about it,but I'm just abit unsure,I think best bet would be to speak with my mental health team thank you for your kind advice thanks.
