Bedroom need

Hi there, I have 3 children with autism, I'm currently in a 3 bed house, I'm sharing with my youngest. I'm waiting to be rebanded by housing and they are going to send a welfare assessment form as they have put me down as a 3 bed need, any advice on filling in the form as I'm desperately in need of a 4 bed as my children cannot share a bedroom.
Many thanks

Hi @3asdmuma, welcome to our community. I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with suitable housing. Filling out these forms can be quite daunting, especially if you're so in need and you're worried about not saying the "right" things.
Scope does have an advice page about filling in council housing application forms here Apply for accessible housing | Disability charity Scope UK. As the page says it's best to fill the form out with someone who knows your families situation well, do you have anyone like this? If not you may want to try reaching out to your local Citizen's Advice Bureau for help with the forms, explaining everything to them.
Letters from a health professional who can explain the difficulties with your children sharing rooms would also likely be quite beneficial as evidence that you need the extra bedroom.
Let us know how you get on with the forms, I am rooting for you getting that extra bedroom that you need.0 -
Hi @3asdmuma, how are you getting on? Did you have any luck finding some support with your forms?0
