Hi @Leigh14 - planning a journey is about any mental health problems, etc. The 'moving around' section is about physical problems with your mobility.

@WhatThe - you made a post which said, 'My worry is forms which say no change' to which I politely replied. I made no accusation, just simple fact when I saw your last reply, as my reply to you then made no sense, as your comment was below mine, using different words. Don't know what happened, but just wrote that the post had been altered. I'm not the sort of person who 'accuses' someone of anything. I know what I saw, & I have not been impolite to you in the least. As I say, I only wrote you'd altered your post as my reply made no sense to anyone later reading it.

This is where I am confused @chiarieds. When I got the reward in 2021, it states Planning and following journey is 4, and moving around is 8, so awarded enhanced for mobility. Do you see what I mean, or am I completely bonkersšŸ¤£

I see, this means you got points for the following descriptor @Leigh14 -
    b. Needs prompting to be able to undertake any journey to avoid overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. 4 points.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  & that for 'moving around'
    c. Can stand and then move unaided more than 20 metres but no more than 50 metres. 8 points.
Do these make sense to you?Ā Ā Ā  Legal definition of 'prompting' here:
An upper tribunal of three judges made the law relating to ā€˜Going outā€™ a little clearer early in 2017, in a decision with the reference CPIP/1347/2015.
Prompting to help you start a journey
The tribunal decided that b) is about ā€˜promptingā€™ such as encouragement and reassurance that a claimant needs before they are able to set out on a journey.

Not sure, oh dear Iā€™m really sorry. What do they say, itā€™s not you, itā€™s me lol.
The mobility one I totally get, stand and moving unaided, but the planning the journey onešŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø Is that not a mobility one then, more daily living (mental health)?

Yes, it seems. This from the Benefits & Work guide:
''This activity looks at your ability to plan a journey and also your ability to actually undertake a journey. It is not intended by the DWP to include the any difficulties you have with the physical activity of walking, these are covered in the next activity: Moving around. It is highly relevant if you have a cognitive impairment or learning disability. It may also be relevant if you can only go out when you are accompanied and this is due to a mental health condition such as depression, anxiety or panic attack. But the decision in such cases is likely to be that you have the ability to 'follow the route of' a journey even if you are too unwell to do so. You might then only get 4 points for (b).''

@chiarieds. Would it be reasonable of me to put on Mixing with others, about my anxiety and that when that sets in, it automatically makes my breathing worse. This is true of course, but should I leave the breathing part out as this is more to do with my mobility.
I am so sorry for being such a nuisance.

Your breathing getting worse is a consequence of doing/attempting an activity, so that's absolutely fine. You can always mention a consequence, & breathlessness is one that should be taken into account. Remember to give an estimate of how often this happens (& for all descriptors). I'm not sure if I mentioned that PIP is how you are the majority of the time/most days.
You're not a nuisance at all; it's a pleasure to try & help you.

Donā€™t hold your breath yet @chiarieds, but I think Iā€™m finally at the finishing line. Written it all down on paper first, then shall write it out in neater writing. Shall take copies too.
Saying that and knowing what Iā€™m like, I shall probably look it over 20 times before I proceed onto neater writing šŸ¤£
Thankyou so very much for your help.

You're most welcome @Leigh14 :)Ā  You can always just type it out, then paste it onto the form, or far easier, as you'll likely need more space for some answers, just type it out, having written on the form see answer to question 1 on pages at the end. Then make sure you say as typing on your pages which question it's about (or write continued from Q1 if you write part on the form). Don't forget to put your name & National Insurance number on each of such pages.

Just to add to the diatribe from @WhatThe - & I still don't know what happened. I replied to their post, which it can be clearly seen I added an edit at 12.54 (with 2 or 3 mins of editing time left) to say they'd altered their last post. This morning I couldn't see this post any more.
However I did see this posted,
    WhatThe said:

Now you're accusing me of editing my last post? There is no sign of editing on my last post so give it a rest will you
I've only just noticed his 'altered' post of last night again, & that of 12.38 am for the first time.
I hope it can now clearly be seen that they did indeed edit their post prior to me commenting at 12.54 am contrary to what they've said, since this post has reappeared.
And all I had said was they'd altered their last post.....

Hi @Leigh14 - no reason not to include difficulties indoors if it's walking, but I don't believe they consider problems using stairs. Again, no harm in mentioning this, but I'm unsure that stairs would score points. The DWP just say, ''This activity should be judged in relation to a type of surface normally expected out of doors, such as pavements on the flat and includes the consideration of kerbs.'' However they don't say you can't describe problems indoors, so if you have a good example, use it. Do try to give another for outdoors tho if possible.
I know with my PIP assessment for my first claim, I was asked how I managed walking about indoors. And for the 'managing your toilet needs' descriptor, it does say if you have difficulty walking to the toilet, that is viewed as a mobility problem. So, I think that leaves it open to also write about difficulty walking indoors.

Iā€™ve given problem for outside, the one indoors was about me collapsing two stairs up as I hadnā€™t been well for a few days, breathing etc, and if I had been in house on own, I wouldnā€™t have been able to call for the ambulance. Phone was out of reach, plus couldnā€™t breathe properly, and couldnā€™t get back up the stairs. Should I not really add that then, probably not the right thing for that descriptor?
