Mandatory Reconsider Timescale

Hi There
I was wondering if anyone knows the timescale of how long a mandatory reconsideration takes?
I sent my form in with additional evidence from my GP, which cost £30 and my discharge sheet from hospital which I sent the 1st time when applying for Mobility.
My GP asked didn’t they read your discharge notes and couldn’t believe I’d been turned down for mobility award.
He photocopied the discharge notes again and I collected the letter he typed a week later.
i sent the everything off on the 7th September 7 days after the deadline as I had to wait for an appointment and then the typing of the letter.
i was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences of this process & the time scale.
l haven’t had a confirmation text or anything from PIP confirming receipt of the forms.

Up to 12 weeks for MR decisions. It often takes a couple of weeks for letters to be added to the system when returning anything to DWP so this is likely why you haven't received confirmation yet.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

Hi Poppy, I hope I haven’t tagged you as I’m new to this site, but would you think it’d be a good idea to see if it’s been logged?? I’m asking, as I read somewhere that if you haven’t had communication after 2 weeks of providing the MD, you should ring PIP and ask if it’s been logged??
Many Thanks for your advice in advance

You didn't tag me so please don't worry. Yes, you can ring PIP to ask if they received the MR letter.

Hey @rawroyal74, tagging is what I just did it's the @ followed by the member's name.
I think it would be good to check if they've received the MR letter, at least you know they have it and the process will begin/has begun. Meanwhile, you may want to take some time just to read up on tribunal appeals. While MRs are successful many still come back with an unsatisfactory outcome, so it's always good to read ahead about what the next steps might be.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with

I’m awarded the standard daily anyway, but this was for them to award mobility as I’ve just hard serious complications from Community acquired Pneumonia which I had to spend a month in hospital & have surgery on my right lung. I wasn’t approved & awarded 4 points. I’ve now sent GP evidence along once again with my discharge notes, well copies as they still have the originals. Maybe GP asked them to take a serious look at them again
Thanks for all your help 🙏🏻 -
Still no communication except me rinsing & asking if the man recon has been logged, which it has,,. Just don’t know the timescale 5th September was when I sent it!???
