Hi all,
Hope everyone is well today.
I'm 12 days into a full knee replacement and thought I'd reach out.

Hi @Champs, welcome to the scope community! How are you feeling just now? I know a knee replacement is a pretty big deal.
It's hard to remember now because I was so young but my dad had a knee replacement when I was about 4, he's due the other knee soon now. It managed to last another 25+ years, runs in the family unfortunately and his was exasperated by playing a lot of contact sports when he was a kid.0 -
Hi a bit daunted tbh! It seems to hurt doing the exercises ..thinking of leaving them until things have healed a bit more and the staples are out !!0

Ahhhh!! No, I know they hurt but the exercises are what help the knee heal correctly. Not doing the exercises can mean longer-term issues can arise.
I know it's a pain (literally), but the exercises are to help strengthen the knee and have it heal. Kinda like how you have to set a bone to heal properly, joints you have to exercise in certain ways to heal properly. Of course, take your time and do it slowly, too much pain can mean you're pushing it too far. It's a really hard balance I know! I would speak to your doctor if you're more unsure but I heard from my dad that if the pain is dull you can keep going, if it's a sharp pain stop.

Keep at if, a little & often, my husband had his knee done in august & it’s been very hard on both of us, he gets so frustrated because his knee still doesn’t bend much he goes to physio once a week & he is able to bend his knee to 90-95 degrees, he’s still not driving he wishes he had never had his knee done, hopefully things will get better it’s awful seeing someone you love like this
try & stay positive!0
