@66Mustang ... the car sounds like a dream
33 mpg isn't bad ... at least you don't need a tanker following you around on a decent journey.
I'm still in love with cars, I'm from a family heavily into rallying and mending/fixing any problem on any car ... but have fallen out of love with driving. Mainly due to my body not being up to it any more. It's more a chore now. Finding myself thinking more and more ... he's doing 57 ... do I want to overtake ...
As for cars coming a long way in 20 years - my daughter learned to drive in an 1.1 litre Twingo on an 08 plate - was as flat as a pancake ... now you've got 3 cylinder 1100's as fast as an old 1600. The power of the turbo
Yours must push you back in the seat when the twin turbo kicks in0 -
@66Mustang
Oh it was well worth the wait for the photos it’s a beauty off a car.
Enjoy all the adventures it’ll bring you.I’m so glad you’re having a lovely time enjoying your new car.❤️0 -
@WelshBlue yeah I can understand about your body not being up to it putting you off, must be no fun when you are in pain, I am restricted a bit by my psychological issues but luckily they are mostly on the motorway which is a chore anyway, the issues don't occur so much the fun roads.
@Lou67 thank you very much for the kind words, really appreciate it0 -
Just received my replacement key ring to go with the car after the first one had a piece missing.

Nice recaro style ... love the stitching and fabric. Funny how seats can make or break a car.
Have you tried it with TC turned off yet
Me falling out of love with driving, is in part because of pain and not being the driver I was, but more other drivers.
Where I live it's only A roads for 50/60 miles in any direction. People drive hours to use the roads. Especially bikers. The pilots you can tell can handle a car, fast but not reckless no problem. I'm just seeing too many near escapes where it's literally 2 seconds from disaster on a corner, or the 40mph braking into every corner with a queue of 15 cars behind them (every right to do so ... but pull over !)
Slow speed can be just as dangerous as high ?
I think my Psychologist is right ... I'm turning into a grumpy old man1 -
I am usually quite philosophical on the roads…if someone pulls out in front of me I just brake, what’s the point in using the horn etc. but what you mention does slightly irk me…
Where I live there are mostly 60mph B roads broken up by 30mph villages. We have a lot of a type of driver here which I like to call “Mr/Mrs Average”. This is because they do 40mph on the 60 roads, but when they get to a village and the limit drops to 30 they still proceed at 40mph!
