I wasn’t allowed to Trick or Treat as a kid, so I only started dressing up for Halloween during my university years.
My first costume for Halloween was an army cadet. Student budget and all that! 😂

I started early, mum loves Halloween! My first outfit was Count Dracula. Pale face, nice shirt, fangs and a cape. I refused to take it off!Albus (he/him)

My family didn't do halloween either so the first time I dressed up was for a halloween party as a teenager.
I was an angel... except looking back it was a white mini dress that was skin tight, and not much else so not sure how angelic it was . It did have wings that I took off about 30 seconds after arriving, but that still counts right?? -
An ancient Egyptian Mummy for a local party when I was still in single figures.

My parents weren't ever big Halloween people but I think one of my first was a witch.
I wore all black and my mum tied a torn-open bin bag round my neck as a cloak We'd gone out earlier to find sticks to make a broom, I made a hat out of black cardboard and carried a black toy cat.
Did anyone else's parents get creative with household items?Rosie (she/her)

These all make me feel nostalgic. As although we didn't trick or treat, we watched other kids. I remember seeing the bin bag capes @Rosie_Scope 😂
@Biblioklept It does count! It does also make me think of my friend who dressed up as a Jedi for my heroes vs villains birthday fancy dress. He wasn't allowed the lightsaber in the nightclub as it was "classed as a weapon". So, everyone kept asking him why he came dressed as Jesus 😂😂😂Hannah - She / Her

My parents were not in to halloween, but yes, bin bags came into play as costumes. I don't think we went trick or treating either. Or did pumpkins. I used the witch costumes as easy.

I think trick or treating has become more popular the last decade I love seeing all the costumes!Hannah - She / Her
