I don't think it's just bread, all gluten free is very expensive. My granddaughter as a dairy product allergy so her mum and dad by gluten free for her and everything is priced ridiculousy.

It's scandalous @poppy123456. Like everyone else we limit ourselves. I think children should get help especially because they are still growing. It is utterly ridiculous.

Hello @Strawberry1, I've been gluten free for many years and share your pain. I agree, it's outrageous how expensive the loaves are!

My favourite loaf is almost £4 at the supermarket and it's not exactly large! I'm relieved that the gluten free offerings taste much better now than a few years ago, but they are horribly expensive.

I find home made loaves don't last as long as shop bought and are only good for toasting after the first day, but it might be that I haven't found the right recipe yet. Admittedly, I haven't tried for a while, so let me know if you find a good recipe!

At the moment, I check the discounted sections when I go shopping and if there's any GF loaves in there I'll buy as many as I can afford or as many will fit in my freezer, then give the slices a small blast in the microwave to defrost them as I use them. I find that saves me a bit of money and the microwaving can make the slices nice and soft for sandwiches.

I've tried GF bread a few times but always found the texture intolerable.  Hopefully it's improved since at that price!  :|

Thank you too both @Rosie_Scope and @OverlyAnxious . I appreciate your input . I will look in the section where things have been reduced.  Thanks for your time both of you. Sending hugs.
