Hello, apologies if this has been asked before, I have been lurking for a while but finally got my decision letter today. It was a no which I expected after requesting and reading through my assessors report.
I scored 6 points for daily living, 2 for preparing food, 2 for washing and bathing and 2 for dressing/undressing.
I am going to ask for an MR as I believe I should have scored higher on each. I made it clear during my telephone assessment that my Husband helps and often takes over preparing/cooking a meal but they haven’t mentioned this in the report. Likewise for the other activities too. They seem to have said for all that I can use an aid, which is true, I do use aids on good days but on the majority of days I require extra help. I also feel that because I drive and work this has gone against me, as the assessor has used these as justification for their awarding.
My question is whether I should add a letter from my Husband stating what he helps me with. If so, what kind of thing should I ask him to include? How detailed should this be?
I am finding this all very overwhelming and wondering if it is even worth the anxiety and stress :(

The question here is why do you need help from your husband? What happens exactly when you try to use an aid?  If an aid can reasonably be used the majority of the time then this is what you'll score points for.

You need to give a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you. Add detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. Ideally you should use at least half an A4 side of paper per descriptor that applies to you.

Yes, a supporting letter from your husband maybe helpful but please also include those details above.

It will also help you to have more understanding of the PIP descriptors because it may not be possible to score the points you think you can score. Likewise, you maybe able to score points where you didn't expect to. This may help. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria

You have 1 month from the date of the decision to request the MR and you'll need to put that in writing. Please do not ring them to request it.

I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Welcome to our community @Amoore :) I am just a few weeks behind you and waiting for my decision letter to come through. I've not seen the assessors report yet but I think it went well? I know a lot of people are in a similar situation as you, and I might be soon too!

I don't think I can add much more than Poppy already has when it comes to getting your MR done. I just wat to say that even if the MR doesn't go your way don't forget about your ability to go to tribunal. They have a much higher success rate and we will be here for any questions!
They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with
