Hi there, in 2016 I was drugged by my then girlfriend in Poole Dorset, with 300 MG’s of liquid Morphine, I suffered a Hypoxic bleed on my brain a stroke and spent a period of time in coma.My life has become unmanageable. Every night I have nightmares and as a result, I moved away from my home town of Southampton. My long term memories are poor and I also have mobility problem.

Since my stroke and brain damage, I’ve been unable to return to work.

I’ve had 2 applications for PIP declined.

I only receive £320 per month Universal Credit.

I Would be most grateful for any help and guidance as how I may go about challenging their decision.

I have a plethora of medical notes, which evidence all of the above.

Thank you for any help.

sincerly yours

Andrew

Hi there @AndrewLylal and welcome to the community.

Firstly I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, can I just ask if you have someone to support you with all of this?

With regard to your PIP, it's not so much about providing medical evidence, it's showing how your issues affect each of the descriptors.  That's how they judge you for PIP. When were you last turned down for it?

Also you can ask your job coach with Universal Credit about limited capability for work assessments.

I'm just popping your post in a different category, so more of our super knowledgeable regulars will be able to see it. :)

For your PIP decisions have you ever challenged those decisions by requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration and the Tribunal? To constantly reapply using the same evidence you previously used will likely see refusals every time.

When was the decision made on your last PIP claim?

For UC have you reported your health condition and been through the work capability assessment? You will need to provide fit notes to start this process off. More details here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition-quick-guide/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition

Finally, your UC amount doesn’t make sense, are there any deductions for anything at all?
