Can I ask how people manage, I have fibromyalgia, long COVID and some other issues, I work three short shifts a week but it's killing me, I really couldn't manage financially if didn't work, even with pip etc , struggling with household tasks as I'm always absolutely knackered but feel if I get a cleaner just so I can continue to work I just don't know

Just so you are aware, we have a couple of relatives who have had cleaners and they don't clean the house like you as the homeowner would clean it, they just tend to go round doing all the obvious stuff like dusting the things you can see. They don't move furniture and hoover behind, it's more a light spring clean if that makes sense.
Just sharing in case it helps make the decision, they aren't really a substitute for doing your own cleaning just something to ease the burden a little bit.
That's our experience anyway, I'm sure others' will differ.0 -
I have fibro too, amongst other things. I live with my daughter and she's amazing with keeping on top of the housework. I still manage to do some things but i pace myself and just do a little at a time. Are you able to do this? Set some tasks to do each day and then cross them off once they are done. If you live alone then there shouldn't be too much cleaning to do.I know cleaners do cost so even if i didn't live with my daughter it's unlikely i would pay the price they charge. I also agree with 66mustang, they probably won't clean they way you would yourself.0
