BACKDATED LCWRA

DWP have agreed to backdate my LCWRA claim to March 2019. I was told a case manager would contact me within two days. It’s now been 2 weeks and I still haven’t heard anything.
I have left 5 messages on my journal but they aren’t answering. I have also been phoning but can never get through.
I’m at my wits end with frustration and not a clue what to do now!

Hi @TonyPerry, sorry to hear you've been given the run around, that can't be easy for you?
All I can suggest is calling the DWP at 9am, you tend to have a better chance of speaking to someone then.

It’s not unusual for money owed to take quite a few weeks to pay it.

Before they can do this they need to recalculate your past statements. This will tell them how much you’ve already received against what you should have received. You will then be paid the difference between the 2.

Once this is done you’ll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed and it will be paid into your bank.

Its pointless ringing the helpline because all they will be able to do is put a message onto your journal, the same as you.

I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
