Looking for a comfy chair that helps my bottom and back

I have a huge leather recliner that everyone thinks is very comfy, except me. My back hurts my bottom feels so sore all the time my feet don't even touch the floor when I'm sat on it.
It's a lovely chair just not right for me
What type of chair should I be looking for? I cannot afford a new one so has to be a 2nd hand one. I can't afford to keep making mistakes either. I've lost count of how many chairs and sofas I have bought (2nd hand) over these last 10 years and none were right for me.
I am 5ft not skinny, I have enough padding that I would think most chairs would suit but nope 🤣
Any links to the type of chair I should try would be lovely.

I don't have any links for you but wanted to give my opinion anyway. For me, i always have to sit in a chair to see if it's suitable before i buy. I wouldn't go by other peoples recommendations because my idea of comfy maybe totally different to their's.I'm extremely fusy when it comes to sitting or lying on something because of my health conditions, in the same way as yours. Something may look comfy in a picture but it maybe completely different when you sit on it, as i always find.I know i would stay away from anything that's leather because i never find that comfy.I do appreciate that sitting on something before you buy is more difficult when buying 2nd hand, unless there's a 2nd hand furniture shop near you.1

I agree with Poppy, trying the chair out before buying is always the best idea. I'm also terrible for buying without trying first.0

Thank you both. Yes, I will try before buying I'm just not sure of what type to look for. there are so many different options. I think I may go with a high-backed chair that has lower back and neck support and needs to also have a very soft cushion.
Will see what comes up
