A bit anxious now though as the deadline is Thursday and I’m not posting til tomorrow. They did take me a while to complete and gather evidence.I would advise you to ring them in the morning and explain what's happened. Tell them that because of your health conditions, you've found it very difficult to get the forms filled in and returned on time and you will be posting it later that day. In exceptional circumstances they can extend that deadline further and this will hopefully allow time for them to receive it. With the Christmas post now everything will be even more busy than usual.I returned my review form on Wed 29th November and i haven't yet received any confirmation that it's been received. I got the free certificate of posting. My deadline was also extended until 12th December.
I'm not ringing them because i've sent the form and have proof i posted it and that's all we need. Of course you can ring them if you want to ask if it's been received.0 -
Have spoken to DWP, they said that’s fine to send registered, I’m going to just to put my mind at rest. I won’t sleep otherwise, I want confirmation they have it at least. The person I spoke to also said they usually add another week on anyway even with extension deadline as it’s Christmas? Thanks again0

The problem here is that you weren't speaking to anyone from DWP. When ringing any DWP department you are speaking to someone from a call centre, with very little experience or knowledge. As i advised you yesterday, sending registered or recorded delivery doesn't mean PIP will receive it the following day.

I thought I was speaking to someone dealing with PIP department, rang number on PIP claim form and went through options to speak to right person? I understand PIP won’t have it in their system the next day but at least I will have proof of receipt. I get very anxious about these things so really just my way of putting my mind to rest!0

I am please to say I sent the PIP claim
form yesterday registered, as I explained I was more comfortable doing it that way. That’s just me! It was received signed for today. I have received a text today from DWP saying they have received the forms and will be in contact if they need anything more from me or need an appointment for consultation with health expert. Now the wait.1 -
I'm glad to hear they've received the forms @destinymoon. now is (for me) the worst bit, I hate waiting.0
-
I’m very shocked to hear that they added that to the system today but glad to hear it’s been received so quickly. As they say “first time for everything “1
-
I was shocked too! Thanks again for your help. Now the wait, which will probably be long!1
-
You’re welcome. I also received a text today saying they received my review form.New claims are usually quicker than reviews.1
-
That’s great. Before Christmas at least! Good luck with your review. Hope it goes well.2

Just received a text from DWP. Had my telephone assessment done 30/1/24. Text says they have received written report from independent assessment and should hear within 8 weeks. Saying if any changes I should let them know. I have seen other specialists and been offered treatment they are not aware of. They know about the condition but not that I have received further recommendations of treatment. Is it worth telling them or best just to leave as things are and if I’m not awarded PIP them submit further information on appeal? Thinking 8 weeks is a long time to wait for decision?0
-
That 8 weeks can actually be up to about 12 weeks. If you think the information about the treatment will help then you can send evidence of this to PIP.

I have read on other forums that you can ask for a copy of the assessors report. Has anyone else done this, in order to give an insight as to what the assessor advised for the DWP to make their decision?0

If you do request it please remember that it’s a recommendation only and not the decision.0 -
Thank you. I have rung them and requested a copy. I know it will probably make my anxiety worse with me reading all sorts of things into it! I’m just anxious anyway, with the prospect of having to appeal etc if it doesn’t go in my favour.
