Euro Car Park PCN

Hi,
Back in June I drove my Mrs and her sister from Scotland to Newcastle Airport for them to go on a short holiday. Because my car was packed with their luggage I didn't have my wheelchair, only my AFO's and crutches.
After dropping them off I popped into the Airports Shell Skyway garage to get a coffee for the journey back North.
Both disabled bays were occupied, so I sat to one side and waited for one to become free. When it did, I drove over to it, attached my AFO's and went in to get my coffee. After getting back to the car I removed my AFO's as they are uncomfortable to drive in and left.
Unbeknown to me, the parking area is rented to Euro car Parks from Shell. A few weeks later they sent me a PCN for being in the car park 10 mins longer than the free period (20mins) I appealed it on the grounds of my disability and unable to walk the distance from the side car park and waiting on a disabled bay becoming free to get to the shop, but this was rejected.
My Nephew lives in the area so I asked him to go to the garage and check out the signage. He drove around 3 times before he spotted a sign in some trees obscured by branches. There was another sign high up on a wall to the side of the disabled bays that was so small it was unreadable.
When the debt collectors letter dropped in I spoke to the guy on the phone and he said it was ridiculous of me to expect Euro car Parks to cater for the needs of disabled people and I had to pay the fine which was now £170.
Has anyone any experience of this company or something similar? I feel unfairly treated and wondering if I can make a complaint under the equality act of 2010.
Regards, Billy

You may have come across it already but if not I recommend this website
pepipoo.com
There are people on that site's forum who seem to know the system inside out and are masters of getting people out of paying unfair penalties

Cheers for that. I’ll check it out 👍0

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with that @Captainwull
Have you thought about letting your MP know and CC'ing the MP for the area into the email too? They may be able to help support further.0 -
Hi Hanna. I’ve not thought about that yet but if they continue to harass me about this I will.Cheers1
