Hi, hope you're all well, have a conundrum... My SSP runs out today. I've been told I will be getting LCWRA and pip have messaged saying I have been awarded. I'm concerned about whether there will be a payment also. While both state they have been awarded nothing mentions an amount. My award apparently got backdated to August when I first filled in forms for LCWRA but no payment yet, and the letter pip said they were sending last week hasn't arrived..... Will I lose my home since I can't afford my rent right now!? This is my first time out of work... It's really quite scarey! I've looked on gov.UK but it's not very easy to understand and I'm bogged down with soo much information that, honestly I'm confused and exhausted by it.
A little reassurance and help I think could go a long way.
Thanks and regards... Amanda

PIP is completely separate benefit and the text messages with awards do not tell you what you've been awarded or when to expect any money that's owed. Usually money owed goes into your bank within 3-5 working days after payment was sent. Shortly after that you will receive the decision letter in the post and it will tell you what you've been awarded, where you scored the points and how long the award is for.LCWRA is part of UC. Did you receive a letter on your journal telling you that you've been found to have LCWRA after a work capability assessment? The extra money from this is paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition/provided your first fit note. First payment is then made at the end of that 4th month. When it's paid from will depend on the answer to the following questions....What date exactly did you report your health condition/provide your first fit note? What date do you usually receive your UC payment each month? With regards to your rent, this is paid in with your UC known as housing element. Does your UC include this?0

Hey, welcome to the community @amandaallen!
As Poppy says LCWRA (part of Universal Credit) is separate from PIP. Did you apply for both at the same time? If you remember let us know roughly when you applied.
The DWP call lines for Universal Credit are open on the 27th and for PIP on the 28th.
When is your rent due and is it local authority or private letting agency/landlord?0 -
