Although I'm getting esa, I have just received another 79 page form. The same as the first a few years ago. Panicking about it. Haven't heard from them from a while. Thought this wasn't due until next year and the interviews had stopped. When I phoned them a message saying about returning the esa forms back to them. So why are they doing this

Reviews have indeed started back for some people. The form is always the same one ESA50 as the reviews are the same process as the first time. The majority of people have reviews at some point.
You will need to make sure you return it to arrive with them no later than the date in the letter. Please make sure you fill it in with as much relevant information as possible and include any extra evidence you have to support your claim.
Most people have assessments, which are mostly by telephone. Some are video and face to face.0 -
It was done on the 13th December but I just received it today 2nd January. It due on 13th of January. I did phone, but they said put it on the form you were late getting it0

Seems like it got caught up in the Christmas post. They are quite strict with the return of that form though, unless you have a vulnerable marker on your file.Out of curiosity, are you in the WRAG or Support Group?0

It was the Wrag , but that was 2019 and had to appeal. Since then hadn't heard anything. Apart from a call last year. My health has got much worse since then0

I am also on the old esa , so this new form work capability . Is this for new esa, it mentions contribution but I haven't got enough, I was working only part time , 10 hours and on permitted work until last march. Gave it up due to worsening health0

It does seem to be those in the WRAG that are receiving the work capability assessment form recently. The ESA50 form you received is for all types of ESA, regardless of which one you’re currently receiving. The ESA50 form doesn’t mention anything about contributions. You can see that form here https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/654d58d1c0e06800101b2d1c/esa50-capability-for-work-questionnaire.pdf
Edit to add, your ESA is Income Related anyway because the old contributions based and New style are both only paid for 1 year if in the WRAG.0
