Hello people,
I have been told by RAC mobility that if you have insurance offence you can't get insured on mobility. Unfortunately I have a IN10 which is driving uninsured due to Admin error which was still my fault but it's not as serious as reckless driving or drink driving I can understand why they would not insure. I am thinking of appealing as I require to be insured to be able to drive my parent who has a disability. any advise from anyone who's been in this situation.

There are indeed some driving offences that could mean Direct Line mobility insurance could refuse you.Have you actually been refused insurance with Direct Line? RAC are nothing to do with insurance. If you do have a driving offence then it does need to be declared.0

My mistake it's Direct line mobility - I haven't done a full quote but the woman on the phone said if you have a IN10 (Driving uninsured offence) then it's going to be denied. My issue is that in order to be a carer for my parent I would require to drive them around to appointments etc.. so My option would be to appeal the denied proposal to add me on as a named driver as my parent cannot drive themselves. has anyone got any advise on anything further I can do?
Thank you0 -
They won't be giving you a quote because that's not how insurance works with Direct Line motability. The mobility award includes insurance so there's no extra money to pay.To be honest, i can't see that an appeal would be successful here because your parent not being able to drive isn't going to help you if you're refused insurance. This is about you, not anyone else. There's been other threads here recently where others have been refused because of an IN10 offence but i've not heard of any stories where anyone has successfully challenged that decision.0

I see where you're coming from, I'll keep you posted. I'm staying positive here but I guess that's all we can do at this rate.
Thanks for your advise1 -
