daughters savings and claiming housing benefit

hi everyone, its been a while since ive written so please forgive me but ive not been well. ive the time where i need to aply for housing benefit and council tax relief and my question is both my wife and me retired and my 24 yr old lives with us. would my daughters savings affect my claim? this is solely her savings please? many thanks to everyone.

    Good to see you posting but sorry you haven't been well. If your wife is now state pension age then yes you can claim housing benefit. 

    Your daughters savings will not affect any entitlement you have to housing benefit or Council Tax reduction. Can't give any further advise about council tax reduction because all local Authorities have their own rules.
    I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.

    Haha yes, it's usually me ;) thank you as always for such kind words, they are really appreciated. I'm in the middle of moving house and just packing the last minute things that couldn't be packed earlier. House move is tomorrow so will be offline for a little while.
