@Teigr I hope you wake up feeling a bit better. I hope everyone else gets some sleep.
@Katiedimelow20 it's hard sometimes with family. I struggle with my mum trying to do to much, seems mad I'm worried about that, but it can be quite controlling. I feel stressed out when my mum is coming, then put my dad into the picture im even worse.
Me and my only sister who passed away just turned 38, had a traumatic childhood. My sister was in need of more help than me, so she was her main focus of attention, she had struggled with the help too. Then my nan was her focus until she passed away a few years back so now it's my turn.
Like you I try to please her but with my challenges it's not easy. I think that once she had finally accepted, me and my sister had grown up feeling so affected from abuse that we suffered, her way dealing with it, was by her helping us, her way of making it up to us.
When my sister died, I lost the one person who totally got it, someone I could talk to as she went through the same as me.
It sounds like you are doing your best,. You accept who you are that's important for you. Some families hide problems in a closet, and don't like to admit to anything being wrong. Keep yourself well and get support from people who understand you, be it professionals or good friends.
One day she may offer you the underlying that you want until then talk to others who do understand. Sometimes saying it outloud is weight of your shoulders.
I hope you feel better in yourself soon, anxiety is real, don't be put off when others don't understand how debilitating it can feel.
