What things do you hate in life? What really annoys you.

I hate the smell of cooked food last lingers up to half an hour after its cooked.  Can't stand it, it's off putting.

I dislike quite a few things, no manners for example   but the only thing I 'hate' is drink drivers, they should be sentenced to life in prison with no parole...rant over

I second that @Sandy_123. I hate that lingering smell.

Car horns really annoy me. Especially at night.

I dislike rudeness with a passion.

I dislike loud talkers. Why do folk have to chat so loudly when their stood close to each other. I don’t know if it’s my autistic trate  but I literally hold my hands on my head. I truly can’t bare it.

    On a similar note.

People who use their phone on loudspeaker mode in a public place. Bonus chav points if they hold it horizontally just in front of their face.

If I wasn't so shy, I would go up to them and chip in to their conversation, because they obviously want it to be a public conversation and are inviting others to join in.

I sometimes have to change buses if changing seats isn't enough distance from mobile phone users. I stare and do sometimes join in which is when I know it's time to get off! People see my headphones and assume I can't hear. It's the bain of my life so I walk a lot.

(plus the yappy dogs that every other person in my neighbourhood acquired in lockdown ;))

It's more that it saddens me than annoys me, but sometimes the lack of empathy people can show for those who aren't as well off as them. The lack of understanding I've seen from people when talking about disabled people, or homeless people, or even just people who are poorer than them.

What gets on my nerves also is the man across the road, when he's fixing his car, he's revving it lots then he's zooming and stopping up the street to test his breaks.

IMHO we can afford all these and more, the UK as a country has an income over £1 trillion and we spend more than that, if we didn't spend money supporting the Ukraine we could be dragged into a war if Russia invaded a NATO country and that would cost not just money but lives, so £2.5 billion defending Ukraine is money in my opinion well spent.

2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

I don't know we've already given a lot of  support, Ukraine is not nato yet. Russia would of won ages ago without the support from a lot of countries.
Which itself could trigger a war.
If they have all these funds why are people so hard up. People working full time supported by benefits. Nurses drs etc striking for better pay, conditions. Cost of living forcing people to be cold, hungry and homeless. The list is too long to mention. The support should be evened out across the board.

@vikingqueen I think the sentences should be longer for deaths caused by drink drivers

@THE_DUDE car horns are a nuisance at night.
@ada I talk loud sometimes because I've always had to communicate with people who had hearing difficulties
Lol @66Mustang it can be annoying too

The petty things that really shouldn't wind me up as they do ... but really boil my blood

    1.  Tipping things down the side of the washing up bowl ... especially when it's empty
    2.  Leaving a straggly bit on the kitchen roll ... if you can rip off 11 inches cleanly at least get rid of that lil flappy bit  :#

People who push out at junctions and roundabouts ... wait patiently like everyone else is and I'll let you in.
If not, I'm happy to sit there blocking you for a couple of minutes

More seriously, bullies, bad manners and then the ludicrous sentences of community service for having child pornography ... facilitate the suffering and you should do the time

Politicians creaming off while people go homeless, cold and hungry

Actually loads more but I'm realising my wife is right ... I am a grumpy oldish man  :|

Phones. Yes our paths are very thin just about room for one person and often having to side step. Not easy with a walker. Or without one. And the main road can be very busy.
So often someone will be coming towards you busy on their phones texting or something as not chatting. It’s very dangerous my bf had to step into the road and a bus just missed him. He was still shaken when home and telling me.

Lots of very good points made so farm but for me, it's impatient drivers. Grrr.

And people listening to loud music without headphones on busy public transport. Double grrr.

I was thinking of setting up a thread similar to this earlier today, I was going to call it "what really grinds your gears" lol.

I don't like it when people leave the gate open and I can hear it creaking and slamming in the wind...
