Ovo Energy company is overcharging customers for gas bills

Ovo Energy company is overcharging customers for gas by uploading to app on phone’s false duplicated bills replacing all previously sent to email address.
I always pay bills on time . Today they sent me bill generated 18/1/24 for period 14/9/23-13/10/23 completely different to previously sent in October. 
I check all the bills and learnt that in my app all bills from 14/09/23- till present are false and show debit where previously were all paid. The duplicates false bills in app on phone are different from those sent by email. The company fraud customers. 
Please check all your bills for last 4 months whoever is with gas Ovo Energy company and complain if you see anything suspicious.

       I'm with OVO and all my bills are ok, just paid mine on the 11th of Jan. I'd ring or email them, if you have proof of payments there shouldn't be a problem.

    They are an awful company.  They haven't charged me for electricity used since August 2022.  I've queried with them and they have told me the bills are correct.  I tried and tried to sort it and with no resolve.  I've given up with them now.  I keep screenshots and downloads bills for when they work out they are wrong.

           What exactly is on your bills @carbow32 if OVO aren't charging you for your electric?

    That sounds really frustrating @iza and @carbow32, sorry you've both had to deal with these problems. Is it an option for you to switch suppliers? I'd understand if it's not.

           What exactly is on your bills @carbow32 if OVO aren't charging you for your electric? 
    They are charging me the daily standing charge but not billing me the electricity I am using.

    they can only backdate for 12 months

    I changed from prepayment to pay monthly with them back in Aug 2022.  I immediately realised they were not charging me for the electric.  I approached them email/phone to try and sort it.  I had emails ignored and calls put through to call centres abroad who didn't understand a word I was saying.  I raised complaints that were ignored.  The times I did get a response they told me everything was correct.  It was really stressful and frustrating.  It took hours of my time.  So that's why I have a problem with them.  I have given up with them now if they think there is not a problem with not charging me for electric.  I will rely on the backdating for only 12 months rule if they suddenly realise there is an error.

    @ Rosie_Scope , 

    yes I phoned them abs complained also sent complains by email. They open investigation and should call them for updates on Thursday . Thankfully, I saved all previous bills on laptop so have physical evidence. 
    I know that I can report them in case later to Energy Ombudsman. 
    But will wait investigation process first.

    The exact same thing happened with my daughter when she switched from prepayment to DD a few years back but she was with Scottish Power.
    They were billing her for gas but not electricity or the other way round I can’t remember.
    She had a terrible time trying to get it sorted out, then she was hit with a big bill, she kept proof of all emails call logs.
    She did get something for compensation from them but not much.
    I really hope you get it sorted.
