https://mol.im/a/13012055 implies that UK will implement conscription within 6 years unless Putin is defeated in Ukraine. 
I am 60 now and would not be affected directly by this but many of my friends would be....

    It's a little concerning, but it seems as if the government doesn't have any plans at the moment. The military have also mentioned that service will continue to be voluntary. 

    I really hope we don't get to a point where that changes any time soon!

    The government has already quashed that story.  However, governments have been known to change their mind.  Though I wouldn't expect it to be onthe cards.   If for nothing else I doubt they could afford it.
