Working out pip award

Hi everyone I’ve just received my back pay for pip but no idea what for .. it works out exact if it’s 14 weeks 2 days. Is it worked out by days? Thanks so much

    Yes it will be days if it’s part of a week. You will also need to know the cut off date to when the money is paid up until. You can ring PIP to ask what you’ve been awarded and they will tell you. 

    There’s also this calculator but to need to know what award you have for it to work out how much is owed. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/pip-payment-calculator-form

    Thankyou I got my letter this afternoon, I wasn’t expecting it so quick. It’s what I thought so panic over 😁

    can I have some help? My partner made new claim to pip on 16th September and was awarded today after ringing they said no back payment was put on as he’s not in qualifying period but yet his conditions have been ongoing for years? How does this work? I’ve only ever known people to get back payment when owed from the date of made the claim

    you wouldn't normally get it backdated I don't think someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.

    i believe its paid from the date you started the claim

    yeah @durhamjaide2001 pip is always backdated…and this is what I thought @michael57 seems as though they’ve only backdated from when decision is made and they said I have to mandatory reconsideration

    That's not quite correct. For PIP you must have had the difficulties for at least 3 months, when you start your claim. If you haven't then it will not be paid from the date you rang. It will be paid from the start of those 3 months.

    Also for those transferring from DLA will not be owed any money from the start of their claim. If awarded their first PIP payment will be about 7 weeks after the decision was made.

    I know I answered your question on another thread but just wanted to answer this just incase someone else read it and may think it's correct.
