Hi all, just popping in to say hello.

Been diagnosed with autism and adhd in the last few years so learning more about disabled rights and the Equality Act.

Now I'm facing recovery from surgery and the possibility of long term effects on mobility so figured this is the place to ask questions  😁

Hi @EdBot79, welcome to the community :) We have a lot of members who are neurodivergent here! I have ADHD myself. How is the recovery from the surgery going?

Hi @Jimm_Scope im really struggling to be honest. The initial relief from the excruciating pain was wonderful but I seem to have plateaued and now am finding things harder again. Its frustrating.

Have you spoken to the team who were supporting any aftercare or your GP @EdBot79? If there's anything they can give to help. Any idea of how long is the recovery expected to take? I wonder if there's a possibility of looking for a temporary carer or something similar...

Unfortunately my GP surgery are hopeless, it was their lack of knowledge that put me in this situation. I'm not due for a follow up at the hospital with the team who did the surgery until March,  I feel rather left to my own devices. The information I've had has been very vague - recovery could take up to 2-3 years but as every patient is affected differently this is difficult to clarify.

I'm sorry @EdBot79, I know that's a fairly common occurrence around the country just now. Is there anyway to contact the team who did the surgery to let them know you are struggling? I wonder if it's like my IBD team, they normally only follow up every 6 months but I can contact them if things are getting worse.
