I am just a bit concerned about my pip claim as money is very tight at the moment and my health isn't great.
so i had this text come through 2days ago...
We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you.
i then read online now would be a good time to ask for a copy of my assessment results.. the kind lady on the end of the phone put me on hold for 5 minutes. then came back and said my assessment results will be in the post within the next 7 to 10 working days.
i then asked her how long it would be until i know my decision and she just said it could be anytime?
is this a good thing or a bad thing? just baffled me as she could send me the assessment results in 7 to 10 working days but couldnt tell me if i would be awarded pip or not and how long it will take until i know the decision?
much appreciated

It’s perfectly normal. The reason why she couldn’t tell you whether you would be awarded is because no decision has been made yet.
The report is a recommendation only. Any possible points that are recommended are not added because the only person that can score you points is a decision maker.
They do mostly go with the report but it has been known for them to go against it.A decision can take up to about 12 weeks after the report was returned.0 -
okay thank you for your response. so i could be waiting 11 more weeks then? i had read somewhere on a reddit post (but i cannot figure out how to use reddit for the life of me) that its quicker in some areas for decision making? fingers crossed it is soon as i could really do with the extra help.
thanks for your quick response0 -
Timescales are only ever a guide. It could be less or more. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.0
