How long for Mobility car

Hi I have never had a mobility car before but I’m thinking of getting one, I’m just wondering how long it takes to get one? I’ve heard it can take quite a while, I was hoping to get one before I need to pay for the insurance again ( I pay yearly) on my current car in May thanks

It depends on the car you order. I have ordered a Vauxhall Mokka automatic, it is not ready until July, however, the Mokka manual will be available in May. When they say May though they aren't always accurate, it could be ready earlier or later.  The only thing you could do is pick out the car you want and ask the dealer how long, you can normally ask them over the phone. Just bear in mind its going to be an estimate they give you.

One of the Motability requirements is that the cars are all brand new.  So this generally means you have to wait for one to be built and shipped over to the UK which often takes several months.

If you're lucky, you may find a car that's already part way through the build or shipping, which reduces that time.  If you're very lucky, you might find a cancelled order which is sitting at a dealership ready to go within days.

As above, it depends entirely on the car and the dealerships in your area.  The timescales are out of Motability's hands.

I was lucky with my Mokka because when I went to the dealership in December they had one on cancelled order which was expected to be built and arrive at the showroom by the end of January which it did so Mine took roughly 7 weeks from order to delivery.

It all depends on which model you finally decide on and how long the manufacturer is currently taking to build and ship from the factory. If you are lucky they may have one in stock but this is rare nowadays. Overall your wait could normally be anything from 3 weeks to 6 months +

Depending on where you live and if you are prepared to travel there is a Vauxhall dealership in Gateshead that specialises in providing Motability customers with cars from stock which means your waiting time will be reduced down to days to get a car but you would need to be willing to travel to them if you wanted to do this

I am unlucky as its 8 months from ordering it in December.  I so wish I had it now as I am so confined and cut off from everyone and everything.  I wish now i hadn't been so impulsive and gone for a car that had little wait time, but it is what it is. Hope you are having an amazing time with your new-found freedom. i bet it has made a HUGE difference to your life and I also bet your discovering things about the car you didn't know. I have heard that some Mokkas come with a chair massager, do you have one?

I am glad you don't have to wait as long as i do, mine isn't ready until July. If I had done my research I probably would have gone for another car so I wasn't waiting so long. Hope you love your Kia. x
