I applied for PIP in November last year, I have had a telephone assessment on 25 January 24 and now waiting on my results.
I have rheumatoid arthritis, also bi lateral shoulder pain and a recent diagnosis for scoliosis. In addition I have uncontrollable hypertension not unusual for this to be in the region of 220 / 140 so rather severe. In addition I have raynauds and also some mental health issues which manifests in depression and anxiety. My telephone assessment seemed to concentrate on questions about my rheumatoid arthritis and didn’t really discuss my other issues. To be fair my rheumatoid arthritis has become more severe over the last 6 months and I have resigned myself from going out and pretty much live in my bedroom. I know this is impacting my mental health which I have received treatment and counselling for including face to face therapy and CBT and online silver cloud. I just don’t think that the assessor put any time into investigating how my mental health was impacted on my life and I am now overthinking things and assuming that it will be turned down. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

The assessment is there for them to gather more evidence to support your claim. This doesn’t mean they will cover all your conditions. If they have enough of information for some of your conditions and how they affect you then there’s no need to ask any further questions.
Your chance to tell them how your conditions affect you was in the form you filled in.At this stage you just can’t predict anything and it’s very easy to start to overthink things.Once the report is returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks. Once a decision made you will be contacted.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @Lanson66. As Poppy mentioned above, it's so hard to predict what will come out of an assessment. The waiting is horrible, but try put it out of your mind for a bit if you can manage it
We're here if you need distractions or have any questions! Keep us posted with how you get on.
