I put in my claim for carers allowance October last I've received a letter I've been rewarded it how long does it take to get your first payment

It depends on whether you're claiming any other benefits. If you're claiming Income Related ESA or Income Support then first they need to contact those departments before they pay what is owed to you. You can ring Carers allowance to ask and they maybe able to tell you.0
