Hi all,
About 2 years ago I was referred to a particular gut specialist who treats patients with gut pain caused by trauma. They are rare apparently. I’ve been waiting so long and it seems from my search today, that he no longer works for the NHS. He seems to only work privately now. Yikes!!!

Has anyone else had this issue? Did they try and fobb you off with some other Dr or heaven forbid, transfer you over to private. Any information would be much appreciated 👍

Hello @nathaliroma
I am so sorry that you have been waiting just to find out they have gone private! Have they not replaced the position within the NHS practice then? Could you see him whilst be covered by the NHS still?0 -
I don’t know if he’s been replaced by a similar specialist. I see general drs, but it won’t be helpful to see them as they won’t have had the same training. I’m not sure if I can see them privately on the NHS. It’s impossible to get anyone to answer the phone.0

@nathaliroma If you have an email address for your GP maybe email them to get clarity / get your answers in writing. And if they still haven't been of help, I'd encourage you to reach out to your MP and/or talk to PALS.0

Thanks Hannah, that’s a good idea 👍1
