Hello, I’m here to ask for some advise please.
I am looking for a, small as possible, powered attachment that is quick and easy to attach and remove, for a light weight rigid frame manual wheelchair.
The terrain it will be used on has very steep hills, which is also sometimes cobberly, so going up is very difficult, and coming down is incredibly hard work to slow down safely.

I've had a look at Smart Drives on line and was wondering any if any members of the Scope community use them, and what their opinions are about them, and if Smart Drives are truly of help on very steep hills?
Any advice on how people manage to come down very steep hills, is grateful received too.
The person needing a power attachment wears gloves at the moment to help grip when self propelling and for braking - but this is on standard terrain.
Any other suggestions of powered/ braking adaptions that are attached to the front of the chair will be gratefully received too.
Thank you in advance, I’m truly grateful. ps Sorry about such a long message 😁

Hello @BVG, welcome to the community!

I'm afraid I don't have any experience of this myself, but I'll pop your post over to our aids and adaptations section and I'm sure our lovely members will be able to share their thoughts. Just wanted to say hello and welcome first! I hope you'll find the community helpful and welcoming :)
