Child DLA new claim help query

Hi, I sent off my childs DLA over a month ago and I have had no letter or text. I called a few weeks back and after struggling to find her details I was told the letter had arrived. From reading on here you usually get a letter to confirm received and a scan date - still nothing. I have been waiting ages to get through on phone line and before options there is a voice message saying ' the amount of benefit you will receive will be sent to you by the end of April'? Does this mean claim being processed or has it been accepted do you think or am I clutching at straws! Thanks so much. From reading on here it usually takes around 4 months - the only reason I can think if quicker is she turns 16 in September? Thanks

HI @Sim7777, sorry to hear you've been waiting ages for the child DLA. Sometimes there can be quite a long wait. The voice message is a generic one, so everyone will hear that unfortunately. I'd suggest giving them a call to ask for an update and tell them you've not received anything in the post yet.0

They don’t always confirm they’ve received what you sent. It’s only been a month so it’s early days yet.
The message on the phone line will just be standard message that everyone will hear when ringing them.It will have nothing to do with her age. All you can do is wait, once a decision is made you will be contacted.0 -
Thank you both so much for your quick feedback and information how the systerm works. I am so grateful to this forum! Many thanks.1
