The only JSA possible to claim now is New style JSA and this is a contributions based benefit only so you will have needed to have worked at some point in tax years 2021/22 and 2022/23. If you haven't then you won't be entitled to payments.

The only other benefit will be PIP but as I advised whether there's any entitlement will depend on how your conditions affect you. A claim for this could take anywhere up to about 6 months, possibly longer.

At lease for now you have the means to support yourself due to your savings. The most important thing now is to report a change of circumstances for UC and tell them about your capital. It's always better to tell them rather than they find out because they will eventually

6 months for a PIP claim ? I read 4 months and that's way too long crazy. Yes I was a full time live in carer for my parents for 6 years from 2017 to 2023. I did message DWP earlier via their journal online. So it will be 3 months worth of UC to pay back then

I did say "up to 6 months" not 6 months exactly. Some decisions take longer than others and if the worst happens and you're refused it could be even longer.

When you say full time live in carer for your parents, were you claiming Carers allowance? if so when did that claim end please?

Yes and it was stopped a few weeks after she died. I was told long before it would continue for 2 months afterwards but not to be in my case

Carers allowance should continue for 8 weeks after a death. Did you ring carers allowance to ask why it didn't continue?

Other than caring for your parents have you ever worked at all anytime in your life?

sorry for all the questions but there maybe a way for you to be entitled to New style ESA because you were claiming Carers allowance but it will depend on the answer to that question.

Yes I have had various jobs but with gaps in between being unemployed. I have already said way too much personal private stuff on here and I will probably delete this thread soon anyway. If you want more info I guess you can PM me

You maybe entitled to New style ESA based on claiming carers allowance. The rules around this are extremely complex and DWP do not always get this right.

The first condition is relaxed and instead of looking at the previous 2 years they will look at any year in your life where you've actually worked. There's some information here.https://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/employment-and-support-allowance-contribution-based

I'm afraid I do not give advice through PM.
