Some Questions in regards to LCWRA

Hello Everyone,

I am just seeking some advice regarding my LCWRA outcome on April the 9th, My UC Assessment Period is between 21 Month A to 20 Month B, and I am Paid on the 27th of the Month - and I have submitted fit notes continuously (and declared the Health Conditions) from September 27th 2023 onwards (I have now been told I do not need to submit any more fit notes due to my LCWRA Award).

With this information provided I was wondering on the potential of any backdated pay and when that may possibly start from just so I can keep an eye out for any changes, I also wondered how to go about getting the full report for my records (I'm rather anxious on the phone) - but I guess that is what I will have to do so any information about this process would be greatly appreciated.

I also would like to say for anyone reading that has gone through or may go through this process that there is light at the end of the tunnel, I had a very turbulent past 7 months and even with delays and other issues with Universal Credit and the WCA I would like to say that the people I have interacted with (The 2 Work Coaches and the Professionals from the CHDA) have been kind, professional and understanding.

So to anyone else going through this process, no matter how many knockbacks you get remember to keep pushing through and remember there is a great deal of support that can help you - so good luck - and best wishes.

Your waiting period will be Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan... LCWRA starts from AP 21st Jan to 20th Feb and first payment will be 27th Feb. This means they owe you 2 months LCWRA element.

Money owed will be paid separately to your usual monthly money and often takes quite a few weeks to pay it. Make sure to check your next statement to make sure this months element is included.

Please note, my advice assumes you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim.

For a copy of the report, if you have access to a journal then put a message on there, no need to ring them. It's what a journal is for.  :)

Hey All, just a slight update, shortly after I asked for a copy of the report, I received a response saying they will post it to me and a letter in my journal confirming LCWRA Back Payments for February and March and what that amount will be and it will even be paid by the end of this week, It seems the Benefit system has blessed me with speed and kindness I only hope others will manage to have positive and speedy outcomes - good luck all!.

That's great news, especially as they sorted it so quickly because they often take quite a few weeks to pay it. Thanks also for returning with an update.
