Hello all and thank you for reading my post.
I am 60, work in a school as a DT technician part time. I am a war pensioner with bad legs and now find that the physical nature of my job is taking it's toll, I don't want to cease work but realise I can't do the active work thing anymore, I am looking around at less physical work but I have no qualifications or experience.
Any advice, suggestions would be most welcome.
Many thanks in advance.

Is there anything that you can think of that might make things easier for you at work, you should have a good think about it and perhaps broach the subject to the school about maybe having reasonable adjustments put in place to help you.You would perhaps be surprised at how even little changes or adaptions can make a big difference.2 -
It's a very hands on role, construction, woodwork and I'm the demonstration guy and general gopher in the department.0

I do agree with others here @MikMcMikal . You seem to enjoy the work you're currently doing, why not at least first explore if there are possible adjustments or changes that can be made to help you stay in your current role? Every workplace should have a policy covering this, they should be able to do an occupational health assessment to see what could be done to help you.
If they don't work out, then they don't work out. Then you could look for other roles?0 -
Thanks for all the input folks, I work a 3 day week, alternate days to rest the legs which my employer agreed to, I think now to be honest I'm just an old knacker! 😄0
