You can't claim Carers Element, when a person is entitled to both LCWRA and CE, only one can be paid which is the higher amount, so LCWRA.

You are receiving the full amount of LCWRA, but due to this award eroding your Transitional Protection, you are not as financially better off as you assumed you would be.

As kimmy advised, you can't claim carers element because your UC includes the LCWRA element for yourself. The same person can't receive both elements at the same time.

Does your UC include the disabled child element for your son?

what DLA award exactly does he have? If it includes high rate care then your UC should include the higher disabled child element. (£487.58) If it's any other award it would be the lower disabled child element. ( £156.11) Please check your statement.

Yes, that's because when the LCWRA element was included your Transitional Protection will have eroded by the same amount. How much Transitional Protection was included before the LCWRA element was added? you didn't answer that question.

If this is referring to the Transitional Protection then please double check that amount because in a previous comment, you said you were only about £100 better off with the LCWRA element added. This suggests that your Transitional Protection was more like £316 ish.

It's difficult to advise because you're not answering all the questions I've asked.
