Hi guys,
I enjoy attending comic cons. Part of the fun is dressing up as characters from film and TV.
I was curious if any of you had any tips or tricks for easy outfits, or a way of integrating your chair into part of your costume?

Heya @speedshrew it's always good to see some cosplayers here! When I was wheelchairbound for a while, I ended up adding some cardboard hubs to the chair, put a blanket over my legs and shaved off my beard. Apparently I made a very good Professor X! Are there any fandoms you're particularly interested in?0

Hi @Albus_ScopeI cosplayed as Rimmer in the red gigham dress from Red Dwarf at Aberdeen last year, which was interestingProfessor X is on my list at some pointHighlanders Ramierez is next on my list, as is Micheal Knight from Knight Rider, or maybe the War Doctor from Dr WhoWhat about yourself?

Oh those are some excellent choices there! I'm guessing you had Mr Flibble as well? Ramirez would be amazing! We have a place to show off your art if you wanted to share.
I unfortunately don't do well with crowds, so I tend to just do things for Halloween, I used to do a lot of SFX makeups, so my outfits tend to be more on the horror side of things. So zombies, Pinhead, torn off faces. All the really family friendly stuff.

all good choices there, i had my own business at one time doing masks and costume for theatres and film as well as makeup fx, fun times, i still like to create stuff but haven't done anything for a year or so just not up to it at the moment

You've all made me want to get my sewing machine out now! Like yourself Grinchy, I'm not really up for it right, it's easier for me to stand not sit. But I do love creating stuff. I'm thinking maybe doing Papier mache stuff this summer. I can stand at a table outside and make a complete mess and catch some rays👍 Wandering if making lightweight structural stuff with cardboard could be used with your chair Speedshrew? The carpet shop usually have those really long cardboard tubes which are great for lightweight frame work.

Apologies for the delay in response guys!I have been pondering how to create the front of KITT recently, I'll be honest and say cardboard wasn't on the list @onedayatatime but I'll look into it deeper, thank you for the suggestion!0

If you need it lightweight, maybe some expanding foam, cut into size, high gloss varnish over the top to get that smoothness, then some LED strips inside?0

@speedshrew , do you have Pinterest? Oh my, the world of cardboard costumes and structures is something else!! But I'm a bit odd like that 😂 and have visions of making all types of things yet couldn't manage to get out of the bed today 😂😂
Can I kindly confirm, are we talking about Kitt from Nightrider or have I spectacularly got myself confused?0 -
For some reason, this notification has only just come through so my apologies @onedayatatimeYes, there are some bonkers costumes for sure(in a good way).Yes, Kitt from Knight Rider
